Origin/Development

Origin and development of SV Krechting 1959 eV

On Sunday, January 4, 1959, the founding meeting was opened in the Sack restaurant. The club was founded under the name "DJK Spielvereinigung Krechting".

After a long search for a site, the club began playing in 1960 at Brügger Busch. The club enjoyed great growth in the first few years. And so, from 1970 onwards, the usual sports ground was no longer sufficient, so a new location had to be found.

The new site at the end of Finkestrasse with a new dirt pitch was finally inaugurated on May 8, 1975. Construction of a changing room and club room began on March 25, 1983. This was completed around six months later.

In the years between 1983 and 1990, membership numbers increased so much that an expansion of the sports facility was necessary.

In 1995, the current grass pitch was (finally) built. At the same time, the idea of converting the changing rooms and club rooms into a clubhouse was considered. After a long period of intensive planning, the renovation began on October 13, 1998. The new clubhouse was completed almost 1 1/2 years later, on April 9, 2000.

Since 2000, renovations and maintenance work have been carried out on the grounds of the Finkestrasse, mostly with the active help of the club's own members. Two additional training areas and a beach volleyball court were created. The grass pitch was given a drainage system and a sprinkler system.

A multi-purpose room was created on the upper floor of the clubhouse, which is now very popular with the SVK's recreational sports department.

As early as 2015, there were initial considerations to convert the 1975 dirt pitch into a state-of-the-art artificial turf pitch. After five long years of planning, the artificial turf pitch was inaugurated on August 8, 2020 after a construction period of just under three months.
